  Project scale ： covering a land area of 16000 mu as planned.
   The project is located on the hilly land southeast of Dongqian Lake. Within this scenic area, the rolling ridges and peaks generally rise 200-300m above sea level and canyons crisscross in the myriad landscape. The area is also scattered with creeks, reservoirs and ponds. On the top of the mountain there is a pool called “Dragon Pool” and a nearby ancient well that never dries up, hence the name “Fuquan” (spring of felicity). Here, tourists may ascend the mountains for better view, strolling among the hills, pluck tea leaves or spend their holidays on mountaintop. The first phase of the project includes five scenic spots, which have completed; the second phase includes the views of Fragrance of Ancient Osmanthus, Relics of Great Buddha and Tianda Fairy Rock.
    The project will mainly target the visitors from greater Ningbo and Yangtze Delta region and also from the country. It will also attract foreign visitors on holidays or business trips.
   Annual operating income is forecasted at RMB 28 million and annual profit at RMB 3 million.

    The Administrative Committee of Dongqian Lake Holiday Resort is an organization under Ningbo Municipal Government, which is authorized by the municipal government to exercise municipal-level economic administration functions and county-level administrative functions within the resort. The Economic Development Bureau of Dongqian Lake Holiday Resort is a competent department of the Administrative Committee charged with the investment promotion, tourism administration, foreign trade and economic cooperation. This department is specifically responsible for planning and investment service for this project.

Project location & geographic advantage

The project lies with proximity to the two state-level scenic areas Putuo Mountain and Xueduo Mountain (Xikou), adjacent to Tiantong Temple and Asoka Temple. Mere 8 km from downtown Ningbo and 15 km from Ningbo Airport, it is conveniently accessible from developed cities like Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing.

Project status quo

   1st phase of scenic area and 1 st and 2 nd phases of roads already completed; 1 st phase of scenic area opened to tourists on May 1, 2004.
