   Project scale: Chenhua-Baifeng section of national highway No. 329 with full length of 16.877km and Beilun section of State Coastal Expressway with full length of 25.99km.
   The Chenhua-Baifeng section of national highway No. 329 is designed to vehicle speed of 100km/h and roadbed width of 40m. The Beilun section of the State Coastal Expressway starts from Baifeng, passes by Guoju, Shangyang, Kunting and Chunxiao and reaches Yinzishan, with full length of 25.99km; it is designed to vehicle speed of 60km/h and roadbed width of 22.5m.
   Beilun Port is in a period of fast growth. In 2004, the port realized cargo throughput of 220 million ton, ranking second in mainland China. Its container throughput reached 4 million TEU, with year-on-year increase leading all domestic ports. As different industries are concentrated in the region, there is increasing demand for improved road transportation facility to accommodate the logistics operations. The highway was already put into trial use in November 2004 and the toll gate is being built. A foreign investor is sought, to whom the highway will be transferred in whole.

Annual operating income is forecasted at RMB 167 million and annual profit at RMB 50 million.

   The Economic Development Bureau of Ningbo Development Zone is charged with the foreign economic cooperation, foreign trade and foreign affairs of Beilun District. It is responsible for investment promotion for this project.

   The project is an important transportation link between Ningbo and the rest of the country. The huge cargo flow in the region will generate huge market for the project.
