Key Projects Under Construction	Ningbo future high speed transportation

The Project of Ningbo-Shanghai Sea Bridge across Hangzhou Bay
The construction of Ningbo-Shanghai sea-bridge across Hangzhou Bay, with a total investment of RMB 11.8 billion yuan, was commenced on November 15th, 2003. The project covers a total length of 36 km, of which 35.67 km is the main body of the sea bridge. It is designed to be 6 bidirectional lanes and 10 km/h for the driving speed. After the completion of the bridge in 2008, it will take 2 hours only to drive from Ningbo to Shanghai.

The Phase IV and V Projects of Ningbo Port Container Docks
Ningbo port phase IV container dock project is located in the North part of Beilun Chuanshan Peninsula, where 5 large container berths will be constructed to receive the super large container ships of fifth generation or above with a designed yearly handling capacity of 2 million TEU. The dockyard covers a land area of 2.504 million square kilometers. The estimated investment of the project is RMB 3.798 billion yuan, which is fully funded by Ningbo Port Authority.
Ningbo port phase V container dock project will be constructed in Daxie Island, including 4 large container berths and facilities to receive the super large container ships of fifth generation or above. The estimated investment will be totaled at RMB 4 billion yuan.

The Project of East China Sea Chunxiao Natural Gas Utilization
The project of East China Sea Chunxiao natural gas utilization consists of the drilling platform at sea, gas pipes under sea, landing terminal (gas treatment plant) and Zhenhai power plant natural gas power generation units and their pipelines, totaling an investment of around RMB 13 billion yuan. Among which RMB 540 million yuan is for the landing terminal (gas treatment plant) with a yearly treatment capacity of 2.5-3 billion cubic meters. 2 new natural gas power generation units of 350-megawatt each will be invested with an amount of RMB 2.64 billion yuan by Zhenhai Power Generation Co., Ltd. in place of its original fuel burning power generation units. The project of Ningbo urban natural gas pipe network will be invested with an amount of RMB 1.75 billion yuan and designed to provide a total gas capacity of 537 million cubic meters. It is estimated that the landing terminal (gas treatment plant) will be put into normal operation in June of 2005.

The Project of Zhejiang Guohua Ningbo Power Plant
Phase I project of Zhejiang Guohua Ninghai power plant will have four 600-megawatt coal burning units with a total investment of RMB 10.65 billion yuan, which is funded by Zhejiang Provincial Energy & Electricity Development Corporation, Guohua Power Corporation and Huaneng Corporation in a proportion of 5.5:3.5:1. The construction of the project was commenced on November 28th, 2003. Two power generation units will be put into service in 2006, and in 2007 the other two units will be in operation while the preparation of its Phase II project (two 900-megawatt coal burning units) will be started.

The Phase III Project of White Cardboard
The phase III project of white cardboard, with a total investment of RMB 11.8 billion yuan jointly funded by a Ningbo municipal enterprise and China Paper Corporation, is designed to achieve a yearly production of 1 million ton white cardboard. As its first stage project, the construction of 750,000-ton high-class white cardboard units was started on October 20th, 2002 and it is scheduled into operation in August 2004.

The Series Projects of PTA (Chemical Fiber Material)
The series projects of PTA mainly consists of CITIC Mitsubishi PTA project and Hengyi PTA project, with a total investment of around RMB 12.6 billion yuan. CITIC Mitsubishi PTA project, totaling an investment of RMB 2.6 billion yuan and located in Ningbo Daxie Development Zone, is to construct PTA production facility of 600,000-ton capacity yearly and an affiliated 50,000-ton jetty for liquid chemicals.

The Project of Ningbo Coastal (Wushashan) Power Plant
Located in Xizhou Town of Xiangshan County, Wushashan power plant will consist of four 600-megawatt coal-burning units. The project will have an investment of around RMB 10 billion yuan.

The Project of ZRCC Ethylene with a Yearly Production Capacity of 800,000 tons
To be implemented by Zhenhai Refinery & Chemicals Co., Ltd., the ethylene project will be composed of 8 sets of facilities to produce 800,000 tons yearly of ethylene (including 500,000 tons yearly of cracked petrol plus hydrogen) together with their lower stream and auxiliary equipment. The preliminary estimation of the investment is around RMB 17.9 billion yuan, which will be funded by Sinopec with a registered capital of 40% (around RMB 7 billion yuan).
The construction of project will be commenced in the late part of 2004 with a total construction period of around 3 years.
